Continuing Education

.

Rising Stars of Rockland sponsors courses in topics of direct relevance to pediatrics, which reinforces our agency’s commitment to our therapists. In this way, therapists are able to advance their skills as conveniently and affordably as possible. Furthermore, the therapists have the opportunity to be involved in the planning stages of the courses, to carefully tailor the details of the learning experience to the specific needs of the children that the agency services.

The continuing education events that Rising Stars has sponsored have been a huge success, and have attracted many professionals who want to further develop and update their skills. The effects on the children that Rising Stars services have been remarkable, as they flourish from the expanded techniques that their Rising Stars therapists apply during therapy.

Certificates of attendance are awarded to all workshop participants, who receive continuing education hours. Professional Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are provided as appropriate. Rising Stars of Rockland is privileged to be an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) provider of continuing education. In addition, Rising Stars of Rockland provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the following professional organizations: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), New York Society for Continuing Education in Physical Therapy (NYSCEPT), and National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Rising Stars plans on expanding the number of courses we will sponsor in Rockland County, so that more specialty areas can be addressed. The interest from the professional community has been overwhelmingly positive and this encourages Rising Stars to continue in our work. Furthermore, more parent involvement in training events will be encouraged. We look forward to communicating with all therapists looking to join Rising Stars’ talented group!
