You are so special to us. You have helped us learn how to help our baby. We feel so grateful to the therapists and to Susan, the teacher. They are so nice to us, and the baby is doing so much better. She feeds herself now, and is almost ready to take her first steps. It’s a very exciting time for us.
Sincerely,
Mr. and Mrs. R.

PARENT SERVICES

At Rising Stars, we are all about helping your children when early intervention issues arise. We have a very talented team of therapists whose skills we match to your children’s specific developmental therapy needs, so that your children receive the best care possible.

The first step in our process is for you to review and complete our comprehensive Developmental Checklist, which allows us to focus on the specific developmental needs of each child. Once we receive your completed checklist (by email, fax, or regular mail), we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the findings brought out by your answers.

If appropriate, a referral will be made to the office of the Rockland County Early Intervention Program. Once it is determined that your child qualifies for EI, we then assign dedicated therapists, and apply our excellent service coordination to work one on one with you and your child. They will address the goals set out by the Individualized Family Service Plan in response to your child’s specific needs.

Rising Stars Service Coordination
Rising Stars offers service coordination to all of the families that it services. Parents have the options to choose an ongoing service coordinator from Rising Stars once it has been determined that their child qualifies for Early Intervention services.

We, at Rising Stars have hired a service coordinator who is a professionally trained, warm, responsible person. The coordinator communicates with parents on a regular basis to ensure that delivery of services is effective to address the goals set for the child. She helps families identify and prioritize concerns, assists parents in developing plans and strategies to meet the needs of their children and family units, and strengthen families’ competencies and sense of control over life events.

Communication may occur through phone contacts or through home visits, depending on the individual needs of the family. The service coordinator is responsible for monitoring the delivery of early intervention services in accordance with the plan. She ensures communication, collaboration, and coordination among service providers, including the educators and therapists, to eligible children and their families.

The service coordinator is knowledgeable in infant and child development, Rockland County, and New York State laws and regulations pertaining to the Early Intervention program, and the principles of family centered services, and applies them in his/her work with the child and parents.
